Yossyatelier

The place where architecture and nature quietly align

Yossy Atelier explores landscape through spatial reading, inspired by Japanese ukiyo-e and Northern England’s industrial environments, capturing quiet moments where architecture and nature align.

Art work

My practice approaches landscape as spatial reading, informed by Japanese ukiyo-e composition. I explore how space is constructed through line, structure, and atmosphere, focusing on transitional moments where architecture and nature merge into quiet, contemplative states.

About

My name is Yossyatelier

M.A. in Architecture.

Born in Tokyo and based in Newcastle, I explore the interplay of light and shadow in landscapes where city and nature meet. Influenced by the aesthetics of ukiyo-e and inspired by travel, I create mixed-media works that reimagine Britain’s industrial heritage through a Japanese lens. My practice centres on themes of nostalgia, harmony, and tranquillity, reflecting a deep connection to place where architecture and nature exist in contemplative balance.
